From a car-show trailer to the corner of Hewitt & Grand
Heidi Sawdon started selling curated vintage out of a 1959 travel trailer at classic car and hot rod shows and street corners around Snohomish, while her husband Matt apprenticed as a tattoo artist. The pop-up grew — 700 square feet, then a thousand, a stretch on Everett Avenue, nine years on Broadway.
In 2015 it settled into its 4,000 sq ft home at the corner of Hewitt and Grand, inside Matt’s Sunken Ship Tattoo & Piercing. Heidi buys the vintage and pierces; Matt tattoos; their son Levi works there too. It is, start to finish, a family shop — and that’s the whole point.
